Girls Debate League, Tournament Results

On Monday we hosted the Spring Girls Debate League Tournament!  Over 100 debaters from across the city participated in our Spring Tournament.  The resolution was Resolved: This House would pass the Equal Rights Amendment. Huge shout outs for everyone participating.  Thank you to the Bella Abzug Leadership Institute! Thank you to Minna Elias who is the Chief of Staff  for Congresswoman  Carolyn Maloney (Dem. Manhattan) and who has  consistently taken the lead on  introducing and pushing forward  the ERA legislation in the House of Reps. Shout outs to our second speaker, Jean Bucaria, Deputy Director of New York State NOW.  We had these two amazing speakers in the morning and incredible and inspiring debate rounds in the afternoon.  We also thank Aubrey Semple, our Program Director for tabbing the entire tournament. We definitely don't thank Aubrey enough, but because of him we have tournaments every weekend and now on weekdays too!  Thank you Aubrey!
